
Are you still scouring the newspapers, magazines and the internet for that miracle diet, that quick fix pill or that guaranteed weight loss program? Let me save you some time and a lot of money, you don’t need to do any of the above all you need to do is look in the mirror.
You heard me, get to a mirror right now and take a long, hard look, because the solution to your weight loss problems and indeed to the majority of your perceived problems is staring right back at you.
You see you can try all of the magic diets, all of the fad diets and even all of the sensible diets, but if your head is not in it then you will never achieve long-term success. Oh you may lose some weight for a period of time but you will always be on the weight loss roller coaster, forever yo-yoing up and down. Why do you think the weight loss business is so big and so successful? People keep coming back because the majority never actually succeed long-term.
If you really want to lose weight and have it stay off, so you not only reach your target weight and size but you actually maintain it, then the first thing you need to do is address your mental state, your subconscious beliefs that drive your relationships and actions and how you view the world.
I bet right now you have a nasty whining voice in your head saying something like ‘who does this guy think he is, I’m in control of my self’, ‘my problem with losing weight is’:
It’s my metabolism.
It’s my job. I’m always sitting.
I was OK until I had the kids.
It’s the kids how can I eat healthy when all they ever want is junk.
It’s my finances; I can’t afford to join a gym.
I don’t have enough time tried so many times before and failed never stick to diets.
I need to finish all of the food in the freezer before I can go buy healthier stuff I’ll start fresh next week.
I’ll wait until I get that promotion so I can afford a gym membership.
It will be easier when the kids go back to school.
I hate dieting but I’ll try.
I don’t like exercise.
I’ve always been this way.
I’m too busy every evening (watching the soaps!).
